24 Work-Safe Movie Trivia Questions for Team Quiz Night
"Movie trivia" usually means either film-school deep cuts or the same five Marvel questions everyone's answered a hundred times. This pack aims for the middle: box office records, production history, and famous behind-the-scenes facts that are genuinely fun to learn even if you already know the movie.
The difficulty is deliberately mixed. A few are gimmes anyone who's seen the films can get; a few are the kind of production trivia that surprises people who'd call themselves movie fans — the Wilhelm Scream question and the "Go ahead, make my day" film question both catch people out. Every answer is on this page if you want to skim it before hosting.
It runs as a live team quiz: share one link, everyone answers on their own device, and a live leaderboard updates after every question. No accounts, nothing to install — ready before the popcorn is.
How to run this with your team
- Good for an end-of-week wind-down, not just a dedicated movie night. Ten minutes of movie trivia works as a lighter alternative to the Friday quiz when you want a themed change of pace.
- Draw a subset, don't run all 24. The defaults draw a shuffled 12 of the 24 — about ten minutes at 20 seconds a question, with the rest held back for a rerun.
- Use Pause & Discuss on the production trivia. The Wilhelm Scream and Dirty Harry questions both reward a beat of "wait, really?" before you move on — pause, let the room react, then reveal.
- Ask who's seen the most on the list. With titles spanning five decades, the leaderboard often tracks less with movie knowledge and more with who's had the most sick days with a streaming queue open.
